The Iranian Two for One Deal
Are you tired of waiting for that war in Iran or just simply confused about why Iran is an enemy of America and cannot have a nuclear program to meet its energy needs?
Well, do we have the solution for you!
Back in 1976, during the Gerald Ford presidency, with Dick Cheney as chief of staff and Donald Rumsfeld as secretary of defense, the Ford administration bought the Shah of Iran’s argument that Iran needed a nuclear program to meet its future energy requirements.
Cheney and Rumsfeld then persuaded a hesitant President Ford to offer Iran a deal that would have meant at least $6.4 billion for U.S. corporations like Westinghouse and General Electric, had not the Shah been unceremoniously removed from power three years later. The offer included a reprocessing facility for a complete nuclear fuels cycle, essentially the same capability that the U.S. and Israel now insist Iran cannot be allowed to acquire.
Of course, the Shah’s former argument is even more valid today with the price that can be obtained for oil and the looming specter of peak oil.
So, in essence it could be a two for one deal. Start war with Iran, move in, steal all the oil, set up shop ala Iraq (we all know how effective that boom has been) and let all the private contracts roll in to pad your pockets faster than you can say Halliburton! Then tell China to go fuck themselves when you raise the price of oil for the billionth time!
