It has come to the attention to us at Turd on a Stick that Canadians are still traveling throughout the world with a Canadian flag sewn on to their backpacks in an effort to distinguish themselves from Americans. In this regard, we feel inclined to give you Canadian backpackers a few tips.
1. You don’t need the Canadian flag on your backpack. (only 5% of Americans actually hold a passport)
2. If you don’t open your mouth nobody will know which country you are from. Therefore, you will not be confused with Americans.
3. If you do open your mouth most people will know that you are not American when you pronounce words such as “out” and “about.”
4.* This tip does not apply to Canadian backpackers but those who come in contact with them. If you think someone is American and are not sure ask them if they are Canadian because if you ask a Canadian if they are American it will make them angry. However, if you ask an American if they are Canadian they will not care and say “no I am American.
