Be careful when a U.S. astronaut gives you a moon rock. It may be just petrified wood or it may contain the H1N1 (Swine Flu). In what would seem an isolated case, former Dutch Prime Minister Willem Drees received a piece of petrified wood instead of a moon rock from Buzz Aldrin. Then some 45 years later in 2004, when Mrs. Adrian Smedlowski of Gdansk, Poland met the former Apollo astronaut she got more than what she had hoped for: a fake moon rock made from you guessed it petrified wood and the H1N1 Swine Flu. Although, at the time Polish doctors just viewed Mrs. Smedlowski’s case as the ordinary flu, Dr. Ivan Putski of the Warsaw General Hospital has now reviewed the case and discovered that it was the first case of Swine Flu since 1976.
